Noodles 28

Seems to be just a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that has been around for a long time\
I wonder if Yelp has reviews at all

Yes, and reviews are mixed...a lot of people order take out or have them deliver it seems

I get the feeling this place is uneven in its quality and a lot depends on what day you hit it

I heard a rumor that if you say nothing but "Noodles" 28 times you're offered a discount. I haven't actually tried because I'd probably lose count and because its not true.

Good Chinese food though, haven't had a complaint yet.

I was in the neighborhood and really craving Singapore Mei Fun. Saw their awning and figured they would specialize in noodles of course. The ambiance was nice and I could see why they would charge a little more for essentially Chinese (more Americanized that Chinese chinese) food.

The Mei Fun was satisfying and they were flexible in not including shrimp or bean sprouts in my order. Gave me a ton of chicken and the portion was pretty large. I wasn't expecting a ton of red chili flakes in my dish though, picked it all out. Have never had Singapore Mei Fun like that, usually it's a just hint of curry powder. Overall their quality is pretty good, I probably wouldn't go back for a "quick meal" though ($14, with tax for my dish). Two other tables ordered just dumplings, which looked decent (but around probably $6 for 4 or something), I'd rather go to Chinatown.

I'm never ordering from here again. Once was enough for me.

Ordered drunken noodle with shrimp, they sent drunken noodle with chicken. And this plate looks disgusting to be quite honest. Noodles are clumped together & mushy, then covered in SO much of this horrible tasting sauce that it literally looks like a bowl of soup.

The only somewhat-of-a-plus is that they give a lot of edamame for the lunch appetizer, so at least I can fill up on that. But that plate of noodle was grotesque.

Love this place. It's fast, convenient and it hits the spot. Their pad thai portion is huge and delicious and I even love their steamed veggie platter - you can choose which veggies you want in your dish from mushrooms to broccoli. They also serve you crispy soup noodles as soon as you arrive. Their service is great and attentive. Their noodle soups are also very good.

I always went to the original location , since they relocated I find myself going less often. The other location seemed bigger.
The chicken dumplings with sesame peanut sauce is the BEST!  The food is always fresh and never greasy when I order. It looks like they have some real regulars because sometimes when I eat in, customers just sit down say hi to the server and then their food comes out fast and piping hot without them even ordering. Maybe if I go often enough they will bring me my dumplings without saying a word!

Our last try involved shrimp in garlic sauce, which cameout as shrimp in brown sauce, dried sauteed string beans, which came out as greasy snow peas,  and a General Tso's dish indistiguishable from the brown sauce they called a garlic sauce. Obviously all places have slightly different takes on Ameri-Chinese fare, but this was just brown, brown and brown.

Ask yourself this, if you don't see any Asian people in the restaurant other than your servers, they are all probably at a real genuine Asian restaurant. Go to Chinatown of Flushing, Queens for some real Chinese food.

I remember when this place was located on 28th Street and you could watch dumplings being made fresh from the large front window.

I miss that location, but this one is good too.

In my opinion they have the best steamed chicken dumplings around, and their sesame peanut sauce is worth the additional charge.

The roast duck noodle soup and spinach and tofu soup is also delicious.

    Other dishes to try -
Chow Kuch Teow - Malaysian stir fried flat rice noodle, chives, bean sprouts, egg, chili paste,

Basil Dynasty - chicken, beef, roast pork with string beans, broccoli, fresh mushrooms, onions in basil chili sauce,

Singapore Curry Fried Rice - chicken, shrimp, roast pork & egg ,

String Beans in Basil Chili Sauce.

Prices are higher than most Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood, but in my opinion, the quality of ingredients and service is worth the extra cost.

Service has always been fast and friendly.

There do not seem to be very many decent chinese delivery places. Even places that were good, seem to disappoint after awhile.
Noodles 28 is a recent stand out, recommended by neighbors in our building,  and we honestly have been impressed with everything we have gotten here so far. Fresh, not too greasy and a good selection. Pricier than others, but its worth it so far. We will order again hope we dont eventually update our review with fewer stars.

As always service, food and environment were excellent!

Dinner with family turned a success.

And the koi's are getting so big!
