So let's say SF experiences a major incident and requires mutual aide...should neighboring city leaders hem and haw and refuse that aide...letting SF to deal with the issues. Would the Fire Commissioners experience any discomfort then? Our small municipality sent out strike teams and equipment to multiple incidents at the same time. There is no excuse for not providing aide.

If a conflagration, disaster, has been enacted by the governor the cost is not placed on the fire department sending its people to help instead its paid by the government. This also includes the cost of back filling the firefighters shifts that are at the conflagration.
